The weekend of veterans day we decided that was it we were going to get water, electric, and internet to the barn. I had to work but Zach was luck to get a few days off to try to do as much as he can without me as possible.
So we started everything Wednesday night doing what little things we could to get ready for the next day. Zach was off and was going to leave early to go to Ashland, KY. We were renting a drivable trencher for a day to help make things a little smoother or at least easier on our backs. I mean there was over 200 feet of ground we need to cover between just the shop and the barn. Then you had the barn to the water and the dog pen. O ya I forgot to mention we ran electric and water to the dog pen at the same time. But enough of that, I have posted a link below of the trencher we rented from Boyd CAT!
As you can see from the pictures below and the video this baby cut through the dirt like butter...........
This is where it kinda got hard to take photos and work on the project itself, unrolling the wire and the water lines, then going through with the internet line needless to say it was a challenge. But we did it! We also had to beat the rain that was coming on Friday night so it was game time. We were able to that night to get on the wire and water lines in the round . Then we went over it with a layer of sand, then covered with the dirt and then what we had left of rock. I have to say plumbing isn't one of my favorite things to do, toooo many steps and things to remember. But luckily we got it done and Zach didn't burry me in the ground. So win win for us.
It was a long and I mean a long couple of days where we are up and not going to bed to midnight most nights. But the things you do for the animals you love You will do anything for them, and to make your life so much easier, and best part of it is no more hoses all over the driveway. As well no more frozen water hoses to deal with during the winter time. So far this was one of favorite projects we have done on the farm and one that has helped us hugely in providing constant fresh water for our fold.
But most importantly anything we want to do or upgrade really depends on water and electric in the barn. So hopefully nothing but going up hill for us.
